Well, first tell us who is Rory Ellis?
Some kid who really likes to ride bmx, hang out with friends, and just generally have a good time.
When, why and how did you start riding?
When i was 11 i got a gt performer for my early birthday present because my older brother got a haro shredder for christmas and i thought it was sick. My parents got us smaller bikes when we were younger, and we’d always rip around the yard and shit but it got serious after i got the gt haha.
Is there anything you miss from when you were a kid riding your bike?
Yeah you never got hurt, police wernt as much of a hassle then, more people who were into it for the fun, doing crazy shit because we knew we wernt going to be arrested haha.
How are the things with S&M?I know that you are on their flow team…
Things are good. I actually went to the warehouse and met all the guys for the first time recently while i was in california. Everyone is real chill and good people.
There’s any crazy thing that have happened to you because of BMX?Can you tell us?
Alot of crazy things go on because of my bmx. Every night is an adventure. Example. When i was 14, one of the kids who rode in my neighbor hood who was also 14 would always go to the business parks a couple miles away and steal 18wheelers from a trucking company, drive them around and then put them back. One night he took a forktruck and was trying to put a pickup truck on a 13 foot roof, he almost got it but one of the fork legs snapped and the truck was hanging by a thread. We took off and never heard about anything happening hah.
Who or what are your biggest influences when it comes to riding?
My friends who i ride with all the time and watching videos always gives you new ideas and shows you things that you may not have thought of.
What is BMX to you? Would you change anything about it if you could?
BMX is good times. Its friends, travelling, tricks, and fun. I wouldnt change anything. Maybe bringing back 14mm forks and front hubs, and nearly unbreakable cranksets.
What do you do when you are not riding?
Work a fulltime job, hang out, see my beautiful girlfriend.
Any goals to the future?
Move to california for a while and shred some new shit in the sun all year round, and live. Thats about it.
Do you have any shout outs or thanks?
